cNYX — private balances

Wrap NYX → cNYX and your balance becomes a confidential, ERC-7984 token: the amount you hold is encrypted, and so is every transfer. Unwrap cNYX → NYX any time to return to the public coin.

How the wrapper works

cNYX is a vault that holds the real NYX 1:1 and mints you an encrypted claim on it:

  1. Wrap — deposit NYX into the vault; receive an equal, encrypted cNYX balance.
  2. Transfer privately — move cNYX around; the amounts are ciphertext on-chain.
  3. Unwrap — burn cNYX, withdraw the underlying NYX, back to the public token.

The vault's total holdings are public (it's collateral, like WETH backing wrapped ETH) — but your individual share is encrypted. Anyone can see the pool holds X NYX; nobody can see how much of it is yours.

Any asset, not just NYX

The same machinery wraps other assets. Shield USDC into cUSDC, hold an encrypted balance, transfer it privately, and unwrap when you want it public again. The confidential balance is the core primitive everything else is built on.
